This isn't about trying to be edgy or "different." Spotify (and a lot of these streaming platforms) talk like they’re for the people, but act like bloodthirsty vampires feeding off artists and listeners at the same time. They want to sell us the illusion of access, while gatekeeping the real experience and then blast you with ads, limit features, and bully you into buying Premium. They bank on you until you get annoyed enough to pay.
Spotify is rich. Like disgustingly rich. The CEO of Spotify is worth billions. Meanwhile, most artists make literal cents from streams, even the well known ones. Aren't they rich enough?? One car is enough. You can’t ride multiple. Like how much more do they need?? It’s greed for the sake of greed. They’ll keep hoarding while acting like they’re “connecting the world.”
The dirtiest part. It's not even available in some countries. Music should be universal, travel across borders, minds, and emotions. They’ve made art into a subscription plan. Like “Sorry, your country doesn’t make us enough money, no music for you.” Music is one of humanity's oldest forms of connection and gets locked behind licensing deals and “market viability.”
They’ve got enough money to give everyone free music forever and still live better than all of us. But they don’t because they don’t care about music just data, ads, and profit. I'd rather buy a CD player and start a collection, the more real version of music. You own it in your hands, you can touch it. No algorithm controls it. No subscription. I'm not saying all this bc I have a whole fancy setup at home. I don't. I'm listening to MP3s on my phone like others or from yt, websites. I'm 17 living in a world I didn't build but I know the system is rotten.

Nobody can hate Spotify more than I do. I do not understand why people use the free version willingly…? Like what. There’s no way you enjoy not being able to play your own music when you want. There’s no way you enjoy limited skips. There's no way you enjoy unstoppable shuffle.
Spotify is like trying to make their app so unusable for free users that paying 12 dollars won’t seem that bad… but it is. It really freaking is. Spotify is a literal scam and nobody seems to understand that. Same as all other streaming services. Having to pay for ads are you kidding me? I might as well go watch YouTube and not pay anything!
That’s why I’m a mp3 loving pirating goon that won’t take “just use Spotify” for an answer. That’s why I’ll never ask where can I watch a movie or a show because I’ll find it and own it regardless. I hope this streaming industry crumbles when people find out that they actually don’t have to pay a monthly subscription to listen or watch the things they want

Yo, I totally feel what you’re saying here. Everything you said about Spotify and streaming messing up music hits home for me. That’s exactly why I started 805 Heat Wavz Podcast Radio. I’m all about independent hip-hop, 90s rap vibes, and giving artists a place where they keep control of their music instead of handing it over for pennies a stream.
Even if hip-hop’s not your main thing, I respect how much you care about physical music and keeping the culture alive. People like you motivate me to keep building what I’m building.
On my station, we’ve got stuff like Makaveli Mondayz—all Pac, all day—and West Coast Lunch Break, which is a 2-hour live DJ mix show where fans can call in and talk on-air. I’m trying to bring back the feel of real radio before algorithms took over everything.
I also dropped an app on Google Play so people can listen easily and get notifications when we’re going live.

Honestly real I hate Spotify dawg I hated ever since I have been using SoundCloud since 2020 you can use it but the down side is that if your an American it kinda has ads and sometimes gatekeeps other songs if your outside of America like me it kinda sucks tbh
Ik in my country we gotta pay for every mainstream shit, don't even think about opening acc you gotta paid first to even download it.
