Schizophrenia representation in media SUCKS!!!

It’s always one of the two, either the character is a blood thirsty crazy killer fueled by the “voices in their head” or an extremely introverted weird kid with a passion for war history and shit, ITS NEVER ANYTHING ELSE!!! and i’ve read quite a few books and watched a few movies with schizophrenic characters hoping to find decent representation and I always see the same thing.

Don’t get me wrong!!! Of course there’s gonna be people with schizophrenia who do relate to those kinds of characters and it’s gonna fit their experience, but i’d like to see something different for once, i’d like to see a character who doesn’t just touch the surface of what it’s like to have schizophrenia, to have unique hallucinations because not everyone has the same little tiny voice in their head that tells them to harm others im afraid… and schizophrenia isn’t just hallucinations either!!! I myself am a very social and overall happy person with schizophrenia and for once i’d like to see that in the media, but ill just have to stick with making ocs with it to represent it…
