"War's Melody" [POETRY]

Lovable world, unlovable home

Something that we see taught us in the wrong

We think we're just bad people, but the world is worse

It burns and builds back up, like an organism that rots.

Cruelty and pain bought us to this song

Loud, painful static that plays all the day long

Screaming of people who caused this war

Screaming of innocents, that make our hearts split in half.

One day, hands will connect firm

We'll stop this endless cycle out of own will

We'll drop the grenades, rifles, and sing a melody

To end this distrust's harmony that chokes us deep within.
