Platforms and Kitten Heels (open question)

One of my favorite fashion history facts is that in time of economic struggle heels get taller. That's why in the roaring 20's kitten heels were the go to shoe, and after the 2008 recession those Jeffrey Campbell booties were absolutely everywhere.

On that note I am noticing something odd or maybe not to odd. I am not as well versed in economy as I would like, but it is my understanding we are in a specifically horrid down turn is profitability. The middle class is non existent and unemployment is only growing. My point being that platforms are in. I am a huge fan of the Demonia revival and Unif platforms of 2020 and I can see that they are still popular.
So what's so odd? The absolute flurry of kitten heels is the most current fashion trend. Over 2021 summer there was the small heeled sandals, and now the preppy blocked 60's heel is all the rage. So if we are not in a good economic state than why would heels be getting shorter? My theory is that it is not because the economy is particularly good, but because of social ease and betterment from 2020. Basically my conclusion is that the revival of shorter heels can be tract directly to the election of Biden. I am sure there is more to it, but this is my personal reasoning.
Anyway I want to know your thoughts and if this is just a pretentious reading on my own personal style changing so the fashion media I consume is directed in different areas so I just think shorter heels are in trend.
