First blog entry yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! Testing soft pastels

First, if your new to my profile im Alea, just a stupid teenager artist who is obssessed with the german band Diorama. Idk why i decided this to be my first blog entry but i felt like it would be better than as a bulletin. Sooo yeahhhh.

Alright, so today i was bored and i decided to draw (no fucking way) and i remembered: "I have these stupid soft pastels that my sister gave me on christmas like 3 years ago or something i should like trying to use it like rendering instead of using it to paint a block of color." So i grabbed one random old notebook from 6th grade, (it had some interesting things i could show one day) and i decided to use it because its blank paper without lines (theres a fucking blue line but idc my current sketchbook has to many lines and i like to use them as a guide lol). First i wanted to draw my oc based on the single Child of Entertainment but i already draw them last time + pinterest only gave me bad close up faces. So i switched plans, when i want to draw something and idk what pose i draw, i will go to whatever is my fav band rn lastfm page or their official pages or just look a fucking photoshoot (or concert pictures) of them seeing if theres any interesting pose. I found this concert photo on the Diorama lastfm page and i thought it was pretty cool and i could work with it you know, its already black and white = using only two colors, also i like the feeling of it:

So i picked up my graphite pencil (for sketching i like using my staedtler 4h and 3h pencils that i brought in a pack of 12, it was like 20 euros but so fucking worth it its so fucking useful i 100% recommend buying those packs of graphite pencils with various types) and started sketching. It was kinda hard because Sash's (the person on the left, ex guitarist of the band) face was like cut and i couldnt see the nose nor the mouth and feels that the photographer took two photos and joined them together. Drawning Torben's (the person on the right, the frontman, singer and keyboard (idk the term) of the band) face was more easy.

I took a photo of the sketch but my phone hates me too and idk where the fuck it went, so no sketch photo :(

Anyways, i drew on the bed and made quite a mess lol (i find comforting drawning laying down). I fucking washed my hands like 10 times on this stupid test lol. 

Ok so it took like 3 hours, it was pain on earth, like when i tried to make smaller details i fucked up the area, sometimes i blend the wrong part bc it was so fucking close to the area i was trying to blend. As a graphite main, its like using it but more difficult, more messy and more time consuming. 

Anyways here it is lol:

Anyways i probably never going to use soft pastels as rendering ever again is so fucking hard. Put i like the finished piece, as a first test, its nice, i really like how its more easier to erase and like blend than graphite, but whatever, its still worse. Or im just bad. Also i kindad fucked up the eyes lol. Also the photo is more dark, i just use the lantern to the details appear.

Anyways heres my first blog entry yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!! Pls send me POSITIVE comments (im like Muni from d4dj, shes probablly my kinnie) and tips if i evere touch that 12 soft pastel box ever again.
