Step-By-Step & Ingredients!

Audio:

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to show you guys two dishes that I made for my family and I for lunch. The first one, the soup, is something I followed in Facebook, but I have to change a few of the ingredients and the steps since I'm serving it to more than one person. I also made use of ingredients that are available in our kitchen, so I won't require everyone to have some of them. But I highly encourage everyone to get them (if only they can). Let's goooo!

Egg Drop Soup!

Edit of Miso Soup

and Pork Tonkatsu!

Pork Tonkatsu

MISO SOUP: WHAT I USED

LINK OF FACEBOOK VIDEO with the difference is that I used miso: Facebook

Since I don't have tofu to make the normal miso soup, I followed the video above and used egg to get the fill that is needed there. The other ingredients are: boiling water, salt, miso, scallions, cornstarch, ground pepper, and sesame oil.

STEP-BY-STEP (some according to the video link but I changed a few steps):

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients. Heat up water in the pot and wait until it's boiling and put salt in it.

Step 2: Take a bowl of hot water and put cornstarch and mix until it's fully mixed together, with no bits formed. Pour the cornstarch in the boiling water.

Step 3: After, take eggs (two eggs in the original video but since I'm serving it to more people, I used more than two) and beat it until its mixed. Pour the egg in the pot.

Step 4: In another bowl, put the other ingredients together. Dice the scallions first then put it in the bowl.

Step 5: This is where I change an ingredient; I used miso seasoning instead of umami. But the rest is the same; put black pepper, diced seaweed, (didn't put any dried shrimp but you can do that/optional). Pour sesame oil.

Step 6: Pour the separate ingredient to the soup base and done! Enjoy!!!

Pork Tonkatsu: WHAT I USED (the sauce is separate)

INGREDIENTS: Pork tenderloin, salt, ground pepper, (optional: Italian, Cajun seasoning), recommended: garlic powder, flour, breadcrumbs, two eggs, and oil.

Step 1: In this part, I used pork tenderloin. Sliced it into smaller pieces, depending on how big you want it to be. The tenderloin is long, so I tend to slice it smaller due to my preference.

Step 2: For me, I use salt, ground pepper, Italian seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and garlic powder in the meat. It can just be salt and ground pepper, but I find it more satisfying to have a little bit of spice and garlic-flavor in fried foods.

READY THREE BOWLS: FOR FLOUR, BEATEN EGG, AND BREADCRUMBS

Step 3: After putting the seasonings, I ready the three bowls as mentioned above. With the flour, I put extra salt, pepper, Italian, Cajun seasonings, and garlic powder and mixed them well. After, it's a step by step process of the seasoned and sliced meat being put in the flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.

Step 4: Drop the meat into a pre-heated pan with oil (I usually use Canola Oil) and put it only in medium to low heat, cooking for 10 to 15 minutes. (Slow is key!)

THE SAUCE (TONKATSU SAUCE)

I don't have access to Tonkatsu sauce nor Worcestershire sauce that is needed for the manual making of the Tonkatsu sauce. So, I made one with what I have in our kitchen.

Ingredients: ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, grated ginger, honey, oyster sauce, and fried garlic.

EVERYTHING IS PUT INTO ONE BOWL.

  • Half a cup of ketchup in a bowl.

  • 2 and a half tablespoons of soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of honey

  • 1 and a half tablespoon of oyster sauce

  • Grated ginger can be a teaspoon or a tablespoon (to taste) since when you grate ginger, the juice will first drop into the sauce

  • Fried garlic is also to taste as well, I myself used three cloves of garlic diced, frying it until golden brown.

HOPE EVERYONE ENJOY MY STEP BY STEP OF FOOD THAT I COOKED! COMMENTS AND ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS ARE ENCOURAGED BELOW! (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

Waiting desperately for blog posts to be saved - I’m just about to make miso soup, I have everything except tofu - nice to see that you can replace it with smth else! I’m still a bit scared that I’d add too much miso haha. Last time I added too much soy sauce to the ramen…

Hi there! Good luck on cooking the soup. I suggest you put the miso in smaller quantities so that you'll know what fits your taste ♡♡☆☆!
