If you're into video games you've probably heard about Battlefield 2042's launch being a disaster, to say the least, and regardless of how fun it's been for me so far I'm inclined to agree.
The game launched with a wealth of issues, quite a few of which have already been fixed with the day 1 patch and patches 2-3 (the most recent of which dropped two days ago at the time of writing) but core issues such as optimization/performance and input bugs still exist.
With all due respect to the developers and people working to clean up this mess (because the fault is almost always on upper management pushing for deadlines/release dates/holiday release), this doesn't at all make up for the fact that we were once again sold an incomplete and extremely glitchy product >_>.
The practice of releasing games incomplete/buggy and then promising a mound of patches post launch to iron things out shouldn't at all be the standard but it seems like it has become so in recent years.
I preordered the ultimate edition of this game knowing full well that it would take about half a year for the game to actually be in a good state, I won't at all deny that I'm a part of the reason why game companies keep doing this; I'm a sucker for cool pre-order bonuses after all xD.
But I can absolutely miss out on them for the next few years if it means that game companies will have to start putting their money where their mouths are and stop releasing unfinished games if they want our cash.
This will have been the last triple a game I pre-order for the foreseeable future, and I honestly wouldn't mind if the practice itself died off.

I totally agree with you. Hopefully because of the massive amount of negative reviews on Steam and a ton of criticism the company will do something about it the next time they will release another Battlefield game but I doubt that.

Yep, looks like the game is a total disaster it seems. One "Recommended" review was literally "supports ALT+F4" LOL. ppl are pissed at how shity the game turned out to be and just left bad reviews at steam. Even BF veterans have reviewed that it's trash. Hope the devs realize it, and fix the mess they made.
