Why Does It Always Have to Be Like This?

Okay, so I really need to get something off my chest. Honestly, I don't even know if it’s just me, but can someone please tell me why people do this?? Like, it drives me crazy and I don’t think it’s just a “me” thing. Have you ever had one of those friends (or whatever) who invites you out, right? And you’re like, “Cool, let’s hang out, sounds fun,” because, obviously, you don’t want to be rude. So, you agree, and then they go around telling everyone else that YOU were basically begging them to hang out? WHAT? What is even the point of that?

I’m talking about when someone asks you to do something, or they send you an invite, and you say, "Sure, I’m down." So, you go, because hey, who wants to sit home all day, and then suddenly, they’re like, “Ugh, she’s been begging me to hang out all week…” Like, what?? Excuse me, but did you or did you NOT hit me up first??

It’s so frustrating because here’s the thing: If you hadn’t even sent me that text, I wouldn’t have even thought about you. Seriously. I was living my life, doing my thing, and suddenly you’re acting like I’m some kind of desperate person just waiting for an invite. If you didn’t want me to go, you shouldn’t have invited me.

But no, people just love drama, don’t they? They love to make things seem more complicated than they need to be. It’s like they want to act like they’re being so generous by “allowing” me to hang out with them, but then twist it around to make it seem like I’m the one chasing them. Which—no, not the vibe.

Why can’t people just be straightforward about stuff? Why does there have to be all this weird back-and-forth nonsense? If you want to hang out, fine, but just say so. Don’t invite me out, and then act like I’m some kind of puppy begging for attention. Because I’m not.

In conclusion, if you’re going to invite me to do stuff, own it. Don’t make it seem like I was the one bugging you. If I was that annoying, I wouldn’t even be texting you in the first place. And honestly, if this happens again, I might just start ghosting people when they try to make me look crazy. Just saying
