Sabrina Carpenter is problematic

I used to be a Sabrina fan but now I’m not because I’m starting to realize she’s not a good person. The first thing I’m gonna touch on is the Juno poses. I don’t hate it bc she’s being sexual in front of kids she can do whatever she wants it’s the parents job to protect the kids. My problem with it is the fact that Juno is about teenage pregnancy. It honestly just feels weird that she’s a grown woman pretending like a pregnant teen. Why was sexualizes an actual teenager. There were so many better movies that would’ve been a thousand times more acceptable. 

She has this weird thing with wanting to be perceived as a child. “I’m fully grown but I look like a niña” NIÑA LITERALLY MEANS CHILD! LITTLE GIRL NIÑA IS FOR KIDS! Why the hell did she feel like need to add that line. The song could be the exact same with out it. We get it you’re short and you could pass for a child. To me it kinda felt like she was trying to appeal to a certain demographic.

The Lolita photo shoot is just down right disgusting. Lolita is not and never has been a romance novel it is an abuse novel. It was written to show the dangers of p-dofiles. I see so many Sabrina fans using the excuse “oh well she said she’s never watched Lolita” that is arguably worse. She cosplaying something she’s never seen for the “aesthetic” and that means she probably didn’t do any research on lolita (it’s not even that difficult just searching up lolita will tell you what it’s abt). 

I also have a problem with her new album cover for “man’s best friend”. How tf is her being treated like a dog “empowering”? For someone so “man-hating” she does a lot of degrading shit. It depicts domestic violence not in a way to spread awareness but as a romanticized version. It doesn’t even matter that the first track is called “man child” your words mean nothing if you don’t put action behind them. It doesn’t matter that she changed the album cover she still thought the original was a good idea. Her changing it was just a PR move to save face. 

It honestly feels like she’s using infantilization and grooming as an aesthetic. I swear her fans will do mental gymnastics to defend her.
