WEBTOON IS SO ANNOYING OMFG

The ads are sooo obnoxious and the stories themselves are so unoriginal. Every single isekai feels like it’s just “oh I was boring and read a book and then I was transported into it as royalty!” 

And the ADSSSS. The one I’ve been getting ads for the most is “Rules for dating trash”. I’m sure the story itself is really juicy and fun to read when you’re looking for drama but the ads make it seem so obnoxious and make the leading lady seem so incompetent. I haven’t read the story so I wouldn’t know whether or not she actually is but point is, the ads actively deter me from reading it. There was ONE time I wanted to read a story that was advertised to me and you know what the ads ended up doing?? They spoiled the kiss scene!!! Yes, it’s a romance story. That’s what Webtoon does best. But you do NOT spoil a kiss scene in the ADS…you spoil it in the trailer for s2, tf. It’s an enemies to lovers story too so why are you spoiling the main buildup?? Like seriously, the ads for Webtoon do the exact OPPOSITE of what they’re supposed to do. It isn’t even rage bait, it’s legit just rage.

The app itself isn’t the worst compared to other webcomic apps I’ve used *cough* lezhin *cough* but there’s just sooo much unoriginality in it. This isn’t to say every single comic on there is trash, I still have at least 5 series I check on every single week. I guess I’m just mad at marketing? Like surely there are better ways to promote a story than giving us a 30 second ad read by an ai that spoils every plot point, right??
