This is my second week of having a flip phone. At first, I bought a flip phone strictly for work so that I could focus because I would get easily distracted with my phone. I had spent about a year already without certain social media apps like tik tok and instagram, but the fact that they could still be reinstalled was what made it even more difficult.
When I got my flip phone, I transitioned pretty well, to the point that I've been able to keep going even after work. Now my flip phone is my primary phone. I still have my old phone (my iphone), but that's more so for emergencies that I'm not used to preparing for yet or because I'm still in the process of transferring important information into my notebooks.
My days feel just a bit longer because I don't scroll on my phone in my bed for hours. I've had lots of hobbies for a while. I play guitar, I rollerskate, I sew, etc. However, my phone would either distract me or take away my motivation from my hobbies. Now that I don't scroll, I am able to do a lot again.
Obviously, I still have social media like Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram because being a student and starting my career requires it (society quite literally requires you to have some kind of presence), but I can't access them whenever and wherever, and THAT really makes enough of a positive difference in my life.
After I bought my phone, I also bought an MP3 player to listen to music because I finally got rid of Spotify after almost about a decade! This hasn't been much of a difficult transition though because I had already been using (and collecting) CDs for years again (my car doesn't have bluetooth so CDs is how I listen to music).
