(Pt 3) My experience in brazil

my Crazy, Beautiful, Kinda Gross Trip to Brazil Heyyy guys  So I was thinking about my traveling experiences and said, why not share them?—

🏙️ Then Came Rio: Fun but... Gross?

After Búzios, I went to Rio de Janeiro. I was excited because I’d seen so many photos and videos of it. And yeah, some parts were really cool—the city had tons of places to explore and amazing spots for pictures.

But I have to be honest… it was really dirty. Like, it smelled like pee everywhere. I stayed in a hotel right in front of Copacabana Beach, and while the beach view was beautiful, the beach itself had trash all over it. I like to blame that on the fact that Lady Gaga had just had a concert there 😂 but still. The smell was rough.

Also, everything in Rio was so much more expensive than in Búzios. I tried coconut water from an actual coconut and it was just okay, not super exciting. And then there was this one night—I left a nice restaurant with a takeout bag and these two little kids and an old woman (all in really dirty, ripped clothing) literally ran up, grabbed the bag from me, and took off.

I didn’t even care that much, honestly. They probably needed it more than I did. But it definitely shocked me and made me feel really sad.

There were a lot of homeless people, and random people on the street kept offering me weed, alcohol, and even drugs. It was just not the vibe. I felt like I wasted my last few days in Brazil in Rio when I could’ve had way more fun if I had just stayed in Búzios.

📸 The Good Parts of Rio

That said, there were a few highlights in Rio. Christ the Redeemer (Cristo) was amazing and the view from up there was insane. I also visited the colorful stairs (Escadaria SelarĂłn) which were really cool and super fun for photos. Everyone there was nice and would even help you take pics for your socials without being weird about it, which I loved.

Final Thoughts ✨

Brazil was honestly one of the most unique trips I’ve ever taken. Búzios totally stole my heart—it was fun, beautiful, and had so much to offer. Rio had its cool moments, but it just didn’t live up to what I hoped for. Maybe it was just bad timing, who knows.

Would I go back? Definitely. But I’d stay in Búzios longer, wear more sunscreen (LOL), and maybe skip Rio next time unless it gets cleaned up a bit.

That’s all for now 💕✈️
