meet my current dnd character!!

hey thereee

so very very nerdy post this time, but after ages of being stuck as "Forever DM" I'm finally playing with my old group which meansss.... I'm a player again!! so in lieu of that, here's the fuckass lil guy I made

Paride

lvl 3 oathbreaker paladin, he's a fallen aasimar/dhampir (is that orthodox? idk but my DM and I figured if you're a dhampir you had to start off as something else to begin with, soo...)

Stats:

Str: 15 (+2)

Dex: 16 (+3)

Con: 15 (+2)

Int: 16 (+3)

Wis: 17 (+3)

Cha: 19 (+4)

ASTRONOMICAL rolls I know, usually I've got shit luck with dice so here you go

Other Technical Shit for anyone interested:

passive perception: 13

ac: 16

hp: 21

proficient skills: arcana, history, insight, persuasion

languages: common, infernal(but I gotta roll for how well I understand it), celestial, elvish, abyssal

Cool aasimar nd dhampir stuff:

  • necrotic shroud: basically with a failed DC14 dex save on behalf of creatures close to him, blud gets angelic and scary and he freaks The Fuck out of ppl (Frightened for 1min), and deals 5 necrotic damage
  • immunity to magical diseases
  • his hunger is for blood (we rolled a die for the options, flesh would've been cool too)
  • deathless nature: fucker doesn't need to breathe
  • spider climb: he can climb on walls and since he's lvl 3 he doesn't need to use his hands, he can literally walk on walls (hear me out... he sleeps like a bat. because. he has huge wings. and can stick to a wall. he sleeps like a bat)
  • vampiric bite (twice per long rest): yes, we all know, the fangs are a cool weapon... but cmon its like really cool he can
  1. use it as a weapon (1d4 + con mod)
  2. get advantage in the attack roll if he's got less than half hp and heal in himself as much hp as the dmg he dealt (so what I'm hearing is... he drains life, which is pretty dope) + he gets as much of a bonus on whatever next roll as the dmg he dealt

Backstory !!

ok SO buckle up. he's from one of the aasimar cities in my dear lovely (and insane, this mf made an entire website for their worldbuilding lord help me) DM's world. He was raised wonderfully, coddled and loved and valued by both his parents, he was an only child. Many scholars in this city worshipped Thelena, protector of the aasimar and goddess of wisdom. Encouraged by his family, he becomes a paladin of Thelena, and all could have gone wonderfully.

we have one little problem: dear little Paride is plagued by the concept of mortality

not a day passes in which he doesn't think about death, about how terrified he is of it; of the pain, and not necessarily of what lies beyond, but of the possibility that he will be conscious in an eternal nothing, an eternal lack of an afterlife

so, he strikes a pact with a demon who took an interest in his very easy to prey upon fear: she offers him a ritual, that will turn him into a vampire and grant him eternal life. he accepts. they attempt the ritual, but Thelena, outraged that under her pact he would attempt to turn to the darkness, interrupts the ritual and breaks the oath. he's stuck halfway in between: not a human, not a vampire, but a dhampir. and now also, an oathbreaker.

his family attempts to convince him to let them help fix this horrible mistake, but horrified by the humiliation of staying and pushed by the will to find this demon again and complete the transformation, he flees.

this man is a coward, to the point he isn't selfish only for fear of upsetting others. at the drop of a hat, so long as he isn't faced with immediate consequences, he WILL make the most disgraceful decisions just to avoid pain. he's a bootlicker, can't trust anyone because of how paranoid he's become, and above all, a liar:

in meeting the rest of the party, he reinvented his life: suddenly his parents weren't adoring, but abusers; his city wasn't flourishing and encouraging, but stifling and looming. his escape? perfectly justified, poor him

anyway he's a fuckass I hate him can't wait to start this campaign YIPPIE

ps: his name is the Italian name for "Paris" from the Iliad, because that man was a coward too yayyyy * fades out of sight *
