Smartphone or Flip phone?

smartphones give you everything at your fingertips, the internet, a camera, social media, but shouldn't we leave all of that to the computers? like back in the 2000's where every teen wanted a motorola RAZR or a BlackBerry flip phone, and couldn't wait to get home to go update their myspace on their computer. when single purpose devices were at their prime. single purpose devices such as: ipods, DVD players, Digital cameras, Flip phones, etc. smartphones are cool and all, with the unlimited internet access, many apps and features to download, decent camera in the phone so you don't need to buy a special one to take photos/videos, but in my opinion flip phones are a far better choice. smartphones decrease focus and increases distractions. like notifications, text messages, calls, the latest social media, "trends", and screen addiction. sure, a flip phone can have distractions aswell, like text messages and calls, but flip phones considerably have fewer distractions than smartphones because of their single uses. flip phones can also help decrease screen time.

some pros and cons for smartphones:

pros

  • many features and apps
  • unrestricted internet access
  • high quality cameras
  • multitasking capabilities
  • high quality screens

cons

  • higher cost
  • shorter battery life
  • easy to damage
  • potential for addiction and distractions
  • security risks

some pros and cons for flip phones

pros

  • durability
  • longer battery life
  • reduced distractions
  • lower cost
  • improved focus

cons

  • limited functionality (lacking apps, internet access)
  • smaller screens
  • outdated technology
  • difficulty typing

which do you think is better? thank you for reading, comment below! :)
