Ways to make money stretch and DIY

Ways to reuse:

- Ever buy pasta sauce or salsa and it comes in a glass container? DON'T THROW IT AWAY! Clean out the container and use it to store left overs or to put plant starts into water! They work just as good as any other container you could buy. This also works for the glass containers candles are often in; To remove the wax from the container place the container in a larger pot full of enough water to surround the container and boil the water. The wax will melt and then you can quickly pour it out of the glass container, give it a good rinse, and you are all set to go!

- bottle caps, soda tabs, and plastic soda bottles can all be used for various arts and crafts projects! bottle caps can be turned to earrings or coat buttons, soda tabs can be turned into chainmail, and plastic bottles can be cut up to be used as planters, flower shapes decorations, pencil cases, watering cans, sprinklers, and a ton more things! get creative!

Entertainment:

Wanna have something to do in your free time but can't afford streaming or buying new movies and books?

- GO TO YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY! Once you have your library card there is generally not a limit of how much you are allowed to check out at a time! go nuts! If they don't have something you would like to read you can request for them to get it in! You can also use your library card to use online services like hoopla and libby to check out movies and books from your phone or computer. Certain libraries may also have community events, language learning programs free to use with your library card, and various computers and tech items you can use. If you check out a movie and you really love it you can always make a copy to your computer and then return the disc when it is due.

- if you are looking for another media resource I would check out the internet archive! they have a wide variety of books, shows, movies, and other files there available to safely download.

Programs:

Need free alternatives? I got you!

- If you need a program like Microsoft office but can't afford to it I would try libre office. It's a free open source program which is compatible with Microsoft office files (.doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx) and is backed by a non profit.

- For drawing programs I would recommend Krita it's open source and there are a ton of brush tools to pick from!

- Another good free program if you need a document reader would be Okular.
