The top reasons I stopped using Instagram

I don't really know why I'm talking about this, it just randombly popped up into my head LOL.

In 2017 Instagram was my main social media of choice. I had a personal account I let my real life peers follow, a private "spam" account where I posted nonsense, an art account and a 90s rock music fan page, LOL. 

But as time went on, like on literally every social media ever, the experience got less user-friendly and more miserable and it made me hate Instagram so much I stopped using it. I never really deleted my account because, for some god damn reason, every single important alert my university makes is over fucking Instagram and it gets annoying if you try to look at pages when you're not logged in. But I don't use it, I just check in on specific profiles (my college, this one vintage store, and this one event planner) every so often. I don't even check my feed. I've deleted every accoune except for my personal one though.

The main reasons I stopped using Instagram in 2021 were:

1. Every time I hit the follow button for a new artist/band I liked, bot accounts pretending to be these artists/bands would immediately try to follow me, and that shit just freaks me out!
2. The post to ad ratio on my feed got absolutely insulting. I shouldn't be seeing an ad for every other post or story. Are you fucking insane.
3. The REELS. I HATE!!! Tiktok-format videos. They're SO ANNOYING!!!!!!! My mom watches reels without headphones all day and they make me want to rip my ears out!
4. That time they changed the notifications tab for a shop tab. They were banking on people's muscle memory to go to the shop. EVIL! That really was the breaking point for me, even if that's really like the least annoying part of this list. Even though it's still annoying.
