Good to know - privacy and sensitive health info

Basically, providers do not ask your consent before sharing your sensitive information with each other in "health information exchanges". Imagine your mental health doctor sharing your diagnosis where your family doctor can see it!

Apparently HIPAA does not protect you from this type of data sharing, but some state governments have opt-out laws. Definitely check it out and see if you can protect your health information!
