Kumajirou's English name (or what it would be if he had one)

Usually in fanficks Denmark's human name is Mathias but it wasn't one of Himaruya's suggestions, same goes for Ukraine and Liechtenstein with Katyusha and Lili

Reasons behind glasses

>Among the countries, there are characters who wear glasses and characters who don’t. Do you decide who wears them and who doesn’t based on your inspiration?

There are countries where the glasses were completely by my inspiration and countries where the glasses have a meaning.

America becomes a hero when he takes them off, so it’s a prop to show you he’s normally disguising his power (the trope you see a lot in American cartoons where a boring glasses-wearer has a hidden identity of a superhero. America himself feels like a hero even when he’s wearing them though) and they also have a meaning as part of his land.

Austria’s glasses are music. He looks a bit plain when he takes them off, so he doesn’t do it very often.

Estonia has a lot in his mind, so the glasses play a role in concealing his facial expressions.

The more I draw Thailand, the more he looks like my Thai friend who I used as a model for the character. He laughed hysterically when I showed him.

What language does everybody in Hetalia speak?
You mentioned the differences between British and American accents, does that mean they speak English?

They do use various languages on different occasions, but I think there is also a language that only they understand.
Otherwise they wouldn’t be able to interact with those who were just barely born and didn’t yet have any contact with other countries and outer world.

In actuality, a strong man: Finland

After that, Russia is big-boned. Korea is softly muscular.
As for America, because he’s still young, he is not brawny even though he has muscles,
and I am doing my best to draw him so he has the muscle level that gets a reaction such as “hey man, nice muscles~.”

To say the truth my first image of Switzerland was a girl with braided hair, but then I saw pictures of Swiss people going grocery shopping with a gun, and it slowly changed into his current personification.

America's hobby is archeology

In reality they actually did mess with their gardens lol.
I think he loves things that tickle his adventurous spirit.

Even though from the start America’s hobby is archaeology
and shooting guns there aren’t much scenes that he does so,
he might be quite happy going to Africa in the
Comic Birz series about the North African Campaign.

America’s such a country with guns that there is a person who
made a living by hunting with guns and after they grew up they
started a show with his talent of guns and became famous,
so America’s must also be good with guns!

What happens when you spend too much time around a nation

Hanatamago and Pochi are both normal dogs, but their lifespans get longer because of the strange timeline of their owners. If they get separated, their lives continue as they would with a regular dog. Kumajiro too is supposed to grow into a huge and impressive polar bear.

If a normal person would be close to the nations like Pochi for a longer time, their perception of time would get so warped that they could eventually lose their mind.

By the way, I couldn’t decide whether to make Kumajiro a speaking stuffed toy or a real polar bear, and then I saw a picture of a polar bear happily frolicking through a private house in Canada. A real polar bear it is, then!
