Born in 07, I feel like id be an entirely different person if i was born apart from my mid-Gen Z life, I have been molded by this brainrot of ytp, stickman videos in my child days with soyjacks and doomer incel ideologies. But i would like to see it, i have a lot of interest in the 2000s in both culture, economics and politics. I feel like a ruin-haunter because most of the stuff i liked for a while was as old as me.

It's the 2000s for me oh to be in a decade with no brainrot any of those stupid stuff but then some people make it their entire personality to be like I hate this generation this generation has nothing good like girl you're here whether you like it or not, two of my friends are like this one is obsessed with the 80's and the other with the 50's and it's genuinely annoying how they just dogshit this generation like we caused both world wars but like 80's girl only listens to The Beatles and Queen and 50's only listens to Frankie Valli and that's literally asked her if she knew Eartha Kit and she's literally arguing with me that she only listens to 50's pop like girl(sorry if i went off topic)
Its called anemoia, nostalgia for a past that you never knew. Alot of post 2000 zoomers grew up fully digital, immersed in social media, internet content and never got to experience a time without phones, widespread internet and social media like the 2000s or the 90s. There were good things and bad things back then, overall I'd say it was a simpler time where everything felt more alive, and people lived in the moment instead of being terminally online, doomscrolling and afraid to do stuff 'cause of cringe and risk of being recorded.
Same for me, it's so sad because my brother was a teenager in 2004 and when I see some pictures of him I just wish I was like that. I wonder if people in the future will see us that way.

SAAAAME. I'm so obsessed with designs from the 70's/early 80's. It's my dream to have an entire house furnished with stuff from that time period. The music, IBM compatibles, the cars, AHHH! Also FLARED PANTS? BRING THEM BACK (for guys)!!
