Play-Pretend

Ever since I was a kid, I would take my parent's family camcorder and use it to take pictures of myself doing something. Whether that be watching TV, messing with my laptop or playing games at my grandparents. I still do this to this day, but mainly for another reason now.

Since my interest in older technology and the history of culture in general grew more and more as time went on, I started to adapt these cultures into my current life. Then I would take a picture that I feel would look time-period accurate to whatever time I was aiming for.



I do admit, this is a stupid thing that I enjoy. I dress myself up and look ridiculous to resemble a certain point in time, that will go unnoticed for all eternity. But it makes me happy.

That said, I'm going to continue doing stupid stuff like this. Since I find it enjoyable I find a peace and comfort in the hobby. So use this as an example. If you have a personal hobby that you think may be considered "weird" to the typical bystander, ignore what they think. We all have a short life, let's use the small moments we have to ourselves to distract us from the hellhole that is the world.
