my biggest fear is becoming someone i never expect to be. you know like those adults that are very close minded or adults that have children they don't want or adults that actually enjoy war movies. those are pretty awful examples, but you get my point, how can they be so stupid sometimes? i know i wouldn't be like that, but if you think about it they were kids once thinking and believing that they wouldn't turn out to be that kind of person. it's like you slowly forget what you are and you become this person you don't know. that always haunts me.

I think these people form because it can become really easy to stick to what you've always known and to stay miserable than to actively put effort into engaging with your ideas. I believe it's this reason that conservatism is so popular because you just have to say "its always been this way" and leave it at that, while more progressive views actually require that you do your research on topics
