hihihi Ive been meaning to do a brief blog entry where I show y'all my babies so here I am!!!
3 month ago I got 5 baby leafies, (2 females and 3 males) they used to be teeny tiny but they've grown a lot since. I love them sm!!! all they mostly do is hang onto bramble leaves and eat them bc they're little cannibals!!! they sway side to side when they feel any wind blow on them or when they walk and they look so silly doing that :3 I have tatabas so my females even change colours! they were all green at first but one turned brown and the other is yellow.. they're pretty much autumn themed ;p I have a page in my journal dedicated to tracking their growth and molts too so I'll just show that as well!!
if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!!
top pics are when I first got them! (L2 and L3 stages)
bottom right is agent dale cooper at L5! u can see his antenna starting to get longer (males get longer antennas and bigger wings than females)
top two are my females, juna is the yellow one on the left and callisto is the brown one on the right!
bottom two are my little dudes at L6 when they started looking more like adults.. they mostly molt at night so its hard to catch and watch them molt but I got to catch a glimpse once! (they eat their old skin after bc its full of nutrients yum) ahhh they grow up so fast :')
here's the page in my journal where I keep track of their growth :D idk their bds for sure but thats just me estimating. im super excited for my eldest daughter's last molt and for when she stars laying eggs! (hopefully) they can live up to a year or a year and a half at most so there should be enough time till then. I defo want to eventually learn how to pin and preserve them so they can stay with me forever tho!!
extra fun fact: the females can actually reproduce and lay eggs asexually! they fr don't even need men.. and if they do all their offsprings will be female ;p
extra pics:
