Troop zero

Rarely can I say a film has moved me to tears, but this very night I find myself staring at my ceiling listening to "space oddity" by David Bowie, trying to hold back tears, although many spilled, after watching the 2019 film troop zero. I had watched it 6 years ago when it first came out, I was young and did not understand the full extent of that film, but now rewatching it many years later, I now can appreciate the film that has rested on the back of my mind for so long. For years after watching it, it had been on the tip of my tongue, something about this film has stuck with me for six years, and having watched it again most possibly many, many more. Troop zero is the film that gave me my love for David Bowie, and for that I must thank it, but now rewatching it I love it for more than the incredible soundtrack, but for everything about it. The storyline, the cinamtography, the characters, the world building, everything is truly art. I feel as if I want to rip my heart out and cry that film is so good. It's hard to explain the storyline but the best I can put it is this: a girl, fueled by her love of space, is determined to perform is a competition to get into the Voyager Golden Record, a golden record that was sent out into space in the 70's containing greeting, photographs, and whatever they thought would capture the spirit of earth in hopes external life would see it. She forms a group of outcasts, much like herself, that all are weird and considered freaks, but it's in their differences that true strength and courage are found. This description does not do it justice, but please, if there's one film you watch today make it troop zero. You'll be doing yourself a favor.
