Can we please admit 2000s fashion was just better??

Okay so... I need to get this off my chest because I've had ENOUGH of people acting like Y2K fashion wasn't peak culture.

Like I'm sorry but 2000s clothes>anything we're wearing now.

I don't care what TikTOk says.

Bring back the low-rise jeans, The rhinestones, the pink velour. The ''Im a princess, deal with it'' energy.

Let's start with the HOLY GRAIL: Juicy Couture.

Matching tracksuits in every color?? Zipper hoodies with sparkly crowns on the back?? Looking expensive even if you were just going to starbucks??

That was an era and we were LIVING IT.

Like if you didn't dream of walking through the mall in a baby pink Juicy set with a mini handbag and lip gloss in hand, where were yall

AND don't even get me started on VS

Nor the ''aesthetic'' they try to force now - I mean the full-on, glitter-scented, lacy-everything fantasy on the early 2000s.

Shopping for PINK sweatpants with ''LOVE PINK'' on the butt like it was a personality trait. (bcs it was) The body sprays, the glitter lotions, the little lip glosses in keychains?? You smelled like sugar, wore whinestones, and left the house with zero shame. It was iconic.

ALSO SHOUTOUT TO:

Abercrombie when it smelled like cologne and confidence.

Hollister when walking in felt like teleporting to a beach with hotter people.

Claire's for having butterfly clips, chokers, and glittery anything for 4 dollars.

Baby Path and Rocawear for the girls who were bad before 'baddie'' was even a thing.

AND OFC, Limited Too for the baby divas.

Everything now feels so.. bland??

Like I scroll through Instagram and it's all beige crop tops and plain cargos. Where's the flair? The attitude? The bedazzled belts??? no one's wearing five layered tank tops anymore. No one's tying hoodies around their waists for fashion. No one is being extra on purpose.

FINAL THOUGHTS.

Fashion used to be fun, loud, girly, hot.

Now everything's trying to be ''minimalist'' and ''clean'' and I'm over it.

So yeah, I'll be here romanticizing 2004, reapplying my flavored gloss, and manifesting a Juicy Couture comeback.

No but like I TOTALLY agree with you! The 2000s where peak even with it's flaws like contour as lipstick and nothing else.... Yeah. But anyways, I think your point is already there but the thing is that this world has this very weird obsession with aesthetics, so it's back but not as an authentic personality trait or lifestyle, it's just a very long lasting trend and it's seriously sad. So as much as people like me and you want it back, I'd rather it didn't if it's going to be a trend as such so it could be more ""reserved"" for people like us. This world is about copying so would kinda gatekeepe. It's hard to trust who is authentic and who's doing it because everyone else is doing it.

nah that sheet was kinda meh. People wearing triple X shirts all the way down to their knees & shorts was all the way down to their ankles. I'm glad the baggy style left

Nooo fr, same with like 2000s emo/scene like everybody gets bullied into there graves for having that style but I lowkey think it’s superb and I js hate how everythings so blandddddd like soon everybody gonna be in all black/white like the tv coloring in the 30s~ bc of how everyone wants to modernize/minimalize colors and fashion

Just bring back the whole decade atp
