Sweden, creators of horse games

This is an interesting one

I'm not usually a big fan when it comes to horse games, but these two I bought for dirt cheap were kinda interesting.

Around the beginning of this year, I finally paid a visit to flea market and found two horse games.

The reason why I bought these two was because the CD cases were looking lovely and... oddly weird. Like, that horse game wasn't that typical shovelware game. That it had some substance and decent story.

So I took it, had a chat with friends about it and one of them told me that it was "very interesting but weird game." That the story was like you'd have in your dreams.

I'm talking about StarShine Legacy and StarStable: Spring Riders

StarShine Legacy

[Episode 1: Mystery of the Soulriders]

I need to say this before I start rambling... that friend was right. That game is like a fever dream.

It is basically story-based, open level linear progression game with standard controls for early 2000s.
Walking freely feels like you're a snail, so I suggest running. Controlling a horse is basically tank-controls with ability to speed up, slow down and jump (if you don't know what "tank controls" are, go look it up on Wiki or Google).

When I booted it up, i found the menu quite bland, but what do you expect for a game for girls from 2005? When I started a new game, I was kinda surprised by the beginning speech/text and was kinda interested in it.

Something something, i keep on playing and I reach some horse section. After a while, the horse starts talking to the girl and I lose it. At that moment, I started laughing and kept on going.

I'm gonna skip it to the end, your horse has been taken away into some facility by some old-head and now you gotta get away with your horse. That will end "Episode 1"... which was that CD.

I was so interested about this about 1 hour in lenght video game (which was translated), that I decided to buy episode 2 (and planning to do so with 3 and 4).

It's a short game and you can play all Starshine Legacy episodes on StarStable website.

StarStable

Spring Riders

Now, this is difficult to explain. There are 2 versions of "StarStable"

"StarStable Online" is an open world online only game about horses and taking care of them.
"StarStable: Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter Riders" is a single-player open world game on CD. Game is similar to StarStable Online.

I bought and tried the single-player version (StarStable: Spring Riders).

The only thing I can say that there is some small customization of your character.

You can ride around the world, do quests and you have to, of course, take care of the horse you're riding/owning.

IN CONCLUSION!

Those horse games were pretty good...

I NEED TO BUY THE OTHER 2 EPISODES IN CZECH!
