I came to SpaceHey just to get away from other social media like Instagram and TikTok—they were making me feel bad and anxious. At least, I don't feel stressed anymore. Being here make mefeel excited and nostalgic.

i really wanted something new cuz i feel all these social media apps be all the same layout and format, theres literally nop creativity at all. an plus i was becoming too dependent on them, i really needed a change of pace lmao

I also wanted to get rid of mainstream social medai and feel a little bit of nostalgia. Just use the internet the way it used to be used. The problem i have with mainstream social media is that there are ads everywhere and every single platform is being tiktokfied. Anything to catch your attention and make you scroll for hours through really stupid things. Ever since these reels and shorts came out around like 2019? I really disliked it, but i would still use the social media. Eventually i got sick of it and either stopped using the apps or hid it (you can customize your view in firefox-based browsers, thats how i removed shorts on youtube).
Besides that, its really nice in here. A lot of people just like me. A lot of young people who want to bring back the old internet or simply alternative, kind people who you can chat with. It differs from for example instagram. There are so many people there, all that matters are numbers of hearts under your post or whether enough people follow you, its like a competition. Here it doesnt matter because the users of spacehey create their own small community. There are way too many people to say that everyone knows each other, but it certainly feels like it, and its really comforting.

I love the customizability of this website. I was never into myspace when I was younger (probably bc I didn’t know it existed) but I think I would have loved it. I love this site as I can freely express my interests through my page and also browse forums and groups of like-minded individuals. I’m just an emo kid that never grew out of that phase so having a site like this is nostalgic and comforting.

I joined because I like how its kind of the comeback of myspcace. I do have a question for you though. how was instagram and other social media apps making you anxious? I thought they had features on there that make you delete content you don't want to see. I personlly do that for my own health and safety.

Yeah i could customize my tiktok, twitter or instagram but not like how you can do it here. I needed an open space to express myself and just talk and this website was PERFECT!!

SpaceHey was recommended to me by a friend !! They told me it's like MySpace and since I did want to like, y'know, see how it was like, SpaceHey wasn't that bad actually ! Though, it's kinda hard to find people who have the same interests as me ՞߹ - ߹՞

I came here so that I feel safe unlike other online platforms. And from my online friends, thats why I created a post (which is deleted) abt them. And then my dumbass sister gave them the link and THEY FOUND IT. I dont think I'll be safe in the website anymore.
