- LMAO as a 21 year old, seeing this whole debate or issue going around about kids being on this app is just so hilarious to me i understand both sides...
THE ADULT SIDE: IMHO...i feel like maybe is just a cannon event for kids to do shit that they aren't suppose to be doing like 18+ roleplaying, sexting with older guys/girls, or pretending to be a certain age. when given the chance they are gonna do those things. not saying it should be normalized and it may seem like they are annoying but it's really just them wanting to find a space where they belong or trying to fit in where they wanna LOL.
since this is app is myspace inspired and my space was mostly young adults/adults i can completly understand the frustration however on the more logical side of things, any and everyone can access the internet (sadly). having mostly kids here ruins it because back then there was not a lot of kids on the app because they were doing other things and most of kids (compared to kids now) were not allowed phones or a laptop and if they were it was a family laptop. so i can understand why it can ruin the experience for the young adults.
THE KIDS SIDE: doesn't matter if they are annoying or not be mature enough to keep your thoughts about them to yourself if its negative. like ur no better if you are actually going around this app complaining about things you cant control LMAO. they just want to find a place where they belong and if shit happens then shit just happens like they aren't your kids so leave them alone. if they wanna be edge lords let them. if they wanna talk to older people advice them not to but if they do it then you cant say you didnt try. you can say this app isnt safe all you want but as a former child i would give a flying fuck about what yall think LOL.
our job is to make kids feel safe when shit goes down and they get hurt. not tell them "HAHA I TOLD YOU SO". if they dont listen fine but be there for them if stuff goes wrong and until they fuck around and find out they will never understand.
A MESSAGE FOR THE KIDS: hey lovelies, i can't stop you from making mistakes but be yourself and proceed with caution. you may think you know how fucked up the world is but it gets worse! i honestly pray that you navigate safely through life and find your people. you are loved and cared about somewhere even if its not at home.

as an adult here i agree with both sides. If kids wanna use spacehey, that’s fine but they have to be respectful. An another thing is they should be careful interacting with adults. As an 19 year old i would feel absolutely uncomfortable talking to a 14 yo online (ofc that doesn’t apply on the real world for other reasons) but i used other social media platforms when i was a minor like Twitter/X and from my experience it’s really dangerous to talk with people that are 6+ years older than you. I already set a boundary of specific people i deny using spacehey (i do not interact with people under 16) but most people seem to not read my profile

When I saw the title Cringey Kids I expected to read yet another blog complaining about us being here. I was so pleased to read instead a balanced understanding of both points of view.
