LISTEN TO THE RADIO

so everyone and their mother uses streaming services now except for major pretentious indieheads who drop like eighty percent of their salaries on vinyl and your grandmother, but are we forgetting about radios?

i have a cd player which also functions as a radio, and i got another radio yesterday. i understand that streaming is more convenient, but the radio is better for exposing you to music. using a streaming service is like only reading your own writing; maybe you're a good writer, and the things you write entertain you, but you will only find new ideas if you read someone else's book. spotify or apple music or whateverthefuck can use algorithms to find stuff you should like based on what you already like, but that has the same effect as someone editing your writing and you reading it. highly suggest even just looking up radio stations in your area and listening to them on the website, or even radio garden which lets you listen to any radio station in the world. finding some college radio station in your area is especially awesome because usually college radio stations play more esoteric/odd music
