the death of the author has happened (and it's good)

I often scroll my fav non toxic social media (Pinterest) and see whispers about chapell roan's song "the giver" and they sound like "IMAGINE not realising this song is about lesbian s3x🙄🙄😂😂". this is rlly mean tho :( 

i saw someone saying "i like how this song is empowering women" or smth and get like a LOT of hate and controversy. 

Like.. we get it. We see the meaning the author put into it. but why can't we pretend the song is about smth else? 

now i won't be discussing the stuff about erasing minorities or smth and i actually don't like this example but it's the only one i thought of..

so what's wrong with it? lemme explain. 

we all have our lil playlist with our songs that we correlate with smth in our lives. everyone interprets same songs differently as we are unique human beings with unique experiences. and the same goes for the author of the song — the person who has an opportunity to release a song about their experience. sometimes they provide their vision of their song, sometimes they don't. however, it doesn't mean that in the first case we have to think about this song only the way it's written. it would be so hard to find a song that describes your situation so perfectly if you couldn't change the meaning even the slightest. even a name, a year and a place. because it's all specific to artist's view. 

and here we can see a tragic death. the artist no longer exists in our world. but who are we anyway?

we are the readers. We're born from the authors decaying body (ew, gross). Our minds are free. Free from author's experience and backstory. Instead there are our own stories. Therefore we have numerous interpretations of the same work. And all of them are valid. 

When it comes to the internet.. what can i say? it's rlly brave to share your opinion about the meaning of something. because it can be seen by ppl who don't share the same ideas and so the conflict is inevitable. but that is the worst case scenario.. just imagine if your interpretation sparks readers' minds and they'll realise that their perception was wrong or not complete or secret third thing. your opinion is a powerful tool. you can make peace and war, love and hate. you are the reader. and you're born after authors death. 

but your readers are readers too.. does it make you the author? oh. then you're dead too. and your readers' readers. We're all dead. 

strange huh. there is no meaning at all. the author is a reader just like us. we can't understand eachother whatsoever. We're always gonna be talking about different things because we are different.

well.. i just wanted to say that hating on others because of their song interpretation is bad. dont be mean and respect ppl's opinions.
