Did you just make an account and now you are bored with nothing to do and no one to talk to?? Well lets fix that!! Spacehey is an amazing site and it can be great for making friends or having fun or just shouting into the void!
So first things first, your profile! The most fun thing to do when the site feels “dead” is to work on your profile or have fun with it or browse others! The layout tab has many layouts you can tweak and use and there is even a whole group for html learning (here) you can join and find many tutorials and ways to learn html to tweak any layout or make your own! I also know of these guides 1 and 2
Then you can add things like blinkies and stamps or gifs or anything to your about me! Even just a bit of info on you or nothing even! Though most people will add a done page or at least a page with a name and age on it! (NEVER LIE ABOUT AGE! And honestly try to always put it in your status!)
When your profile is made the next fun thing is to add others and try to make friends! You can browse the “browse” part to see active or new users and you can check out their pages. Or if you have friends already check out their friends even! Add people you find cool, or add everyone you want to talk to or just add everyone in case they could become a new friend! Then you can comment on profiles as a way to start convos or even send IMs if you want to. Reply to comments you get too if you want to! Just know people you add you will see their bulletins and they will see yours!
Speaking of Bulletins is a fun daily thing like a status but more in depth. You can post whatever really and people will see it on their home page or bulletins page. You can also scroll through them every day to see the new things your friends post! Commenting as well can help make the site feel more lively! If you are active others who are active will probably interact with you too!
Then there are forums which you can browse by popular or recent or make your own! You can also always add active people from their or check out profiles!
And blogs are the most fun! They can be coded too like a page and look amazing! I love checking out the recent blogs for pages or subbing to friends to see theirs when they post. You can also see their blogs on their page! I love making blogs or master blogs with like multiple things. Some people do daily diary blog I do a daily song when I can remember to! So just find something fun and post about it!
Finally there are also groups, some are active, most are not but that does not mean you shouldnt try! There are so many and you coil even make your own if you wanted but it is hard to get them off the ground I will warn.

20 years ago, Social Media wasn't a place to live. It was somewhere to be around, like a place you visited from time to time while you were living. So is not actually a problem to be bored.

Yep the problem is than practically no one uses spacehey as an actual social media, it is more like customisation simulator. I'm talking mostly about than no one chats here but like why, what's wrong

I'm too young to have ever used a piece of social media that gives you this much customisation. Even website builders don't give you total control. Looking at you, WordPress. This page is... a bit much to look at, very contrasty, but at least you have that option.

Part of the fun with spacehey for me is that it's surprisingly easy to just...I dunno, do shit? Any other social media with bulletins or blogs and the like? ZERO fucking traction unless you're lucky. Here? All blogs are created equal, they're all under the same categories, your words don't matter MORE just because you've got more friends.
That's what BULLETINS are for, and they're not meant to be that important, they're temporary, and a lot more fun than the engagement bait on other social media.
Honestly the part which makes it fun is just how non-coporate it is. I haven't been bombarded with bullshit ads or things which remove this friendly vibe here like, not once. Sure there's the guys who just post about their new music, and...V Tubers, but those are just people doing that, exceptions people can notice and immediately just not engage with.
It really is just a space for friends...OR your album with 2 listeners on spotify, BUT EVEN THAT'S COOL, you know?

Idk what else to do, cause' people don't respond to dm's.
My blog is active, and I even have tests, but almost no one reads the blogs or poetry of other people (which is why Livejournal died).
People don't go to the forums, because people don't use them or respond.
Most bulletins are people taking about nothing? People's bulletins tends to be about nothing and don't spark conversation, like: "I added this cute blinkie to my profile!".
I think this is because this site is seen more as a html experiment site... And also, late stage capitalism really taught us how to feel unsafe everywhere

honestly as someone who's like really active here i just comment on anyone's posts (specially bulletins) and they comment on mine and that just sums up my social interaction here
like i'm not actively making friends in a sense of "oh, i have to constantly talk with this person" or anything i just see the stuff they post and write anything
even if it's stupid or too related to my special interest
