"some may call this junk. me, i call them treasures"

the epitome of me , on my way to buy every secondhand junk console to restore and repair it so i can have the handheld gaming experience of my life .

i love how the people call it junk when somewhere out there , there is someone who can fix it . to restore it . to repair it .

i've been becoming more conscious abt environmental stuff the past year , and in part of that all i've become fascinated and enthralled with how many things people consider trash that you can actually just open up and repair . i've been watching youtube videos , looking up tutorials online , and absorbing all of the information that i possibly can .

i feel like my flip phone craze sort of lead me to this , as i had to find out information on band technologies and and specifics on what makes a phone tick to get a phone that works in my area . also learning about "learned helplessness" was REALLY helpful to me .

over the past half year i've switched my entire operating system to a linux distribution from previously windows 10 , adopted using a flip phone as my only source of communication outside of the house , and now i'm getting into repairing the electronics i've loved since i was a kid . it's made me the happiest ever being able to do this completely by myself :)

The amount of old stuff that can just be interesting now is facsinating. How you can transform what is considered trash by many into what is now perfect. I got a Windows 10 tablet/laptop I got cheap that I'm trying to make more upgraded right now, like I'd show it to others and they'd say its low end but I'll make it into something one day. Especially with old devices, but that gives more nostalgia than it does trying to give it transformation and restoration. Its cool.

Love the Skyrim reference too

that's so true !! people don't realize at a l l just how much they can transform electronics

i've been trying to do a combination of both and would really like to get my hands on an old chunky laptop to put a linux distro on . since linux is so lightweight and customizable , i'll be able to have the same look and physical appearance of an older device , but it will be able to run very efficiently (even with older model hardware specs) .

and yeah haha , i couldn't resist :) it pops into my my mind every time i score something real cheap bc of it being "junk"
