I love CDs

I very much love CDs. I think they're the best form of physical media. I love going to the store and getting CDs. Its awesome.

I feel like its more fun to explore music by buying random CDs you think look cool, than to listen to the short previews music apps give you. I personally got into System of a Down by listening to a few songs on Spotify, but I got way further into them when I randomly bought Mezmerize (eventually I got the one with Sugar in it) which honestly might be one of my most favourite albums.

I also got way more into John Lennon, I got one of his greatest hits/collection CD second hand at a market. The case is pretty banged up, but the CD is pretty much fine. I'm pretty sure that was the first ever CD I got, and for free to :) I was talking to the guy who had set up a tent at a market I was at and I spoke to him a bit about The Beatles. He walked up to me after and gave me the John Lennon CD.

Don't get me wrong, I love using digital technology on my phone. Like apple music, I use it everyday. I don't have EVERY song on CD of course. Although I have a much more personal connection with CDs. Physical media brings people together. Even if those interactions are just talking to some worker at a CD store about a band you both like.

I think that having small interactions with people is one of the most silliest fun things in life, type of stuff that makes going out fun.

Music has been brining people together for a long time, I'm glad people are still indulging themselves in it.

I sort of just wanted to rant about CDs for a bit and how much I love them. I might post what CDs (and random scratched Beatles Ballads record I got from my Grandma) once I find out how to upload images here :3

CDs are pretty cool and I my fair share of them. I love SOAD too and I have their three albums on CD, but tbh, I really like vinyl records bc you can actually hear the vibrancy in the sound. For records, I have Deftones' Around the Fur.

You're right. Going out to buy CDs can bring you some cool interactions with others, even some more recommendations. Though, I only buy the CDs from the albums or singles I love the most. Compilations are great too.

Buying them second handed here is a bit tricky, but I can always go on websites for local sales and talk to the seller or just get them from record stores/individuals on Discogs. Discogs is amazing when you want to search for special editions or B-Sides or lesser known artists.

You should try tapes too. They're very portable and robust, I don't have much fear of scratching them.

Keep on enjoying music! ^_^

I honestly think records are super sick, though I don't think I'd have the money for them :( tapes seem super cool too :)

I totally get that (>﹏<)

I only get records in special occasions or as gifts and even contests. Tapes are quite cheap nowadays and sometimes I find them at the music store.

Oh! Actually... participating in contests is a great way to obtain records/cds/tapes/wthv... If you're interested, try to find some online and try your luck.
