He's based off the Outlast universe (Mainly Trials!), which is set in the cold war :-D. He was a mountain guide back in Ukraine before fleeing to America after a few suspicious deaths on the mountains he guided people through. In America he was recruited by Murkoff (the main company in the Outlast series) into being apart of their special therapy program.
Basically he's supposed to be an enemy in the game!! With his own special maps and mechanics!!
