Cheap (but healthy) Food Recommendations for a Broke and Shy College Student

Hey all,

I recently moved into a rental room in a big city. Why? A mixture of needing to get out of hick city, and needing to pick up on the education game.

Since moving in, I have started to realize I have a small dilemma.

I am a very shy and socially anxious person (yes, I am working on this). I usually don't enjoy sharing a kitchen with a family of complete strangers, even if they are all very sweet and kind. I am okay with using the microwave and such, but the stove and oven (even if I CAN use them), are mentally off limits for me.

So, does anyone have any recommendations for cold meals that don't need a ton of prep? I'm not super picky and I have no serious allergies, so I will consider absolutely any recipe recommendations. Hell, if you have been in a similar situation; tell me what you ate.

Thanks.

Sliced mozzarella and sliced tomatoes with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Just to name a few

I have a few recommendations that can be done using a microwave.

Scrambled eggs with sliced tomato, garlic, and onions (even scallions if available). You have to put a bit of cooking oil in the container that you are cooking it in so that it won't stick much.

You can steam fish and vegetables by wrapping it in microwave safe wrap and then putting it on a microwave safe container with water. I can't remember the time that I did for each but I think it's to 5 minutes of microwaving? Poke some holes in the wrap by the way!

Good luck! (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ

Museli
Oats, Nuts, dried fruit in a bowl with milk.

Vegetarian "Spaghetti Bolognaise"
-Can of Beans (They get cooked during the canning process)
-Instant Noodles
Put in bowl, microwave with water until hot. Drain water
Add Sesaoning packet (beef flavour if possible), tomato sauce/pesto/passata, Garlic, Basil

I've also had Tortelini heated up with boiling water (Takes a minute tops) and the water drained with a sauce added before,(don't use shelf stable Tortellini, takes too long)

Oh shoot thanks, these are all actually really helpful thank you.

I always thought you had to cook the life out of pasta to eat it safely.
