My garden just went through a tornado
The grass is deceased
Mushed rotting fruits and vegetables cover the ground
Flowers uprooted from the ground
I don’t try to fix my garden, today was hard enough
I just pick a wilting flower from the ground
Looking at it with pity
Curled up in a ball, I sulk in what used to be my garden
I’ve given up.
I rip the petals from the wilting flower
I love me
I love me not
You approach my garden
The streaming river of your voice gives me comfort
With permission you hug me, you do with the warmth of the sun
And all of a sudden I have the motivation to redo my garden
You watch me every step of the way
We get it done in one day
And it’s beautiful!
Of course that’s not a true happy ending because I’ll have another bad day
Maybe tomorrow, maybe in a week, maybe in a month
And you have had days too
So we’ll go to each others gardens
And although you can never fix someone's garden
And maybe they won’t get it done in one day
You can give it little drops of sunlight
To make their day a little less shitty
I hope this poem gave you a drop of sunlight 𖤓
