drumline is a sport

anyone who says it's not is SO wrong. i'm still sore from last practice where they had me do ~300 squats

I play first base in drumline and i'm so grateful that I don't have a heavy drum because it's so hard to march with those (speaking from experience when I tried marching quads... it was hell for my back). and the fact you have to play complex stuff while doing choreography and synchronized marching is something most people probably can't do 

it really is a sport though. I know lots of people who are absolutely ripped just from doing drumline. sure, it's not anything like football, baseball, basketball, soccer or track but it still counts. you need the same strength and stamina that you need for all of those other sports

every day after practice I'm exhausted, but i'll get used to it eventually. we have eight hour practices from 1pm to 9pm (counting our lunch break) which is SO tiring but considering all the work we have to do, its reasonable. 

anyways moral of the story is don't shit on band kids because we're actually pretty hard working and talented at what we do (my opinion is biased though lol)
