Reviewing all ADTR albums Part One

Hello! I want to do a series of blogs talking about and reviewing all released albums of the pop punk/metalcore band A Day To Remember. ADTR is like my number one favorite band of all time and I've been listening to them since I was a child. This is my first post in this series. Feel free to join the conversation!

And Their Name Was Treason (2005)

This album is honestly so great. It's amazing how this came out in 2005 because their style of music was revolutionary for the time. It feels like pop punk, metalcore and early emo. I wish the production quality was better, but you can give them a pass because they were still in High School lmao. If you listen to this album and then listen to the stuff they put out later, it's amazing how consistent their sound is and that it still works for them. I love this album, and it's filled with bangers, but I will say that the re-recorded versions of "Heartless" and "You Should've Killed Me When You had The Chance" are so much better than the originals on this album.

The writing is classic ADTR, but I'll admit it can sound a little childish at times. (They were teenagers when they wrote and recorded these songs) Musically, this album sounds pretty great. They had lightning in a bottle in terms of band members, and everyone has moments to shine here. Jeremy's vocals sound great even though he does make some pretty questionable decisions on some songs but he's still great.

If you feel like it, give this album a listen. It will take you 30 mins to listen to the whole thing and if you like emo/pop punk/metalcore I think you'll love it.
