Why US English rules are inconsistent

It's because US English is kind of not really a language. It's actually more of a mixture of a bunch of languages. That's why the spelling rules are inconsistent, because it is not a set of rules from one language. Words are spelled with different rules in US English depending on which language's rules they are using. US English is basically a mixture of languages with conflicting rules and kind of not even really a language in and of it's self.
