TikTok 'scene kids and scenecores' Lowkey pmo💔

(Fair warning: Now I don't attend this as anywhere near to be a thing to bash on anyone new to the scene or emo subcultures, or to witch hunt anyone for not knowing something, or bash anyone in any other subculture.)

 But I would JUST want to talk about something I've been noticing on my time on the more ALT side of TikTok is how much people spread misinformation about the Scene subculture often saying (ex: 'theirs no music to the subculture and only fashion' or 'Scene is poser of emo' and probably like a million other horrible takes), and the biggest thing I've been seeing is always the same thing to justify.

"Scene is a poser subculture of emo."

"We're all posers."

This darn sentence rubs me in such a wrong way because one Scene is NOT a poser subculture. It may look similar, but it's got lots of differences (ex: Music, Fashion, Lifestyle), and even if it were at this point its own subculture with how long it's existed and has left any emo roots. Which to me plays into the fact that since Myspace has been shut down, A LARGE and I MEAN HUGE part of scene culture and history has been lost to time, which I believe causes people not to know a lot about the subculture and music, and due to people not knowing about the music they just base it on that it's just 'colorful emo' which is bad because it just washes down the subculture which I see happen a lot on tiktok I also believe a lot of people think Scene is the same as...Scenecore, which they aren't! Scenecore to me is just 2020 fashion while scene kicked off in the early 2000s, which brings me to the attention to address something to any new scene kid out there in the will,d reading this on a summer break night in their room in the dark, drinking a Mountain Dew 

PLEASE AND I MEAN PLEASE DON'T DO RESEARCH ON TIKTOK ON SCENE. BRANCH OUT! LOOK INTO THE INTERNET'S ARCHIVES. OLD YOUTUBE VIDEOS LOOK INTO FINDING SOME SCENE QUEENS OR SCENE KINGS YOU WANNA TAKE INSPIRATION FROM!

Which brings me to the biggest part of this rant I wanna talk about.

The music.

Scene music to me is an umbrella for many different genres, but the subculture HAS always been about the music (I mean, think about the name guys we're do you think the name SCENE came from...I'll give you a hint...THE HARDCORE MUSIC SCENE ...WOAH!!) anyways Scene music isn't just crunkcore and stuff it's also... (Bands to check out jumpscare incoming!!)

There are some music bands you hopefully check out to up your scene/emo/alt playlist if you need anything new for your library, and some of the main genres of scene music covered, I highly suggest looking into ALL these bands almost every single one of them where popular during myspace days and (are quite legendary some even being in warped tours which you should also look into because Warped tour was HUGE in the scene culture) they all have great music and this may present a huge opprituny to anyone to look deeper into the old internet and see how the subculture was for your eyes to see and you may get hooked on many new bands you've never heard of before! And if you're new to this subculture, this is good if you need anything to start out listening to if you're new to the music in this subculture!...
