I absolutely despise when people say "i want a hot goth gf 🤓" when they're not even talking about an actual goth style, such as trad goth. They're thinking of those "alt" girls on tiktok who make thirst traps and sexualize an already stereotyped group of people. I do not always enjoy being fetishized for the way that I dress !!!!! I'd hate to gatekeep the goth community but please stop labeling e-girls as real alt, when most of them (not all) are just doing it for attention or playing into whatever's popular. This actually annoys me so much and I don't think it's talked about enough.

ugh thats so unfortunate how the goth community has watered down to the point of... that. like back then yea goths were all see as "freaky in bed" but now its that times 10:// ppl shouldnt want a goth gf cuz they want a goth lady and nothin more, it should be because of how you love the subculture! Im a goth and even idm what subculture my partner is in!!

i just really despise the fetishization of subcultures, especially with goth people as a whole. Yes, they're hot and pretty and cool and mysterious. But to sexualize an entire group of individuals just because of the style they dress in is NOT cute. There's a reason there's the phrase "the way I dress does not mean yes".

Definitly, in Tiktok you can put any type of style and sexualized it for the sake of views and popularity. But even in social medias like that you can find people who wears the Goth like a life style. Greetings from a old Goth!
Agreed. There are most definitely people who actually dress in a goth style, but I'm just saying that I'm annoyed that the people who are often considered "hot goth people" aren't actually goth at all.
