life update - june 17 2025

i will break the streak of "it's been a while" by saying something else like uhhhhhh uhhh hey guys i am really cool and awesome B)

quite a bit has changed over the past few months, and im excited to write it all down so im just gonna get into it

school

finished junior year!!! last day of school was a few weeks ago

overall it was a really great year, i met a lot of new people and got closer to a lot of my friends

plus my grades were a lot better than the last semester (i got all As and one B in my environmental studies class, which was the one i kinda allowed myself to get a B on... it was a high B though like an 89)

the college program groupchat has still been pretty active, and im actually excited to hang out with friends over the summer i think its gonna be awesome

work

ahaha im employed

im actually doubly employed, and theres a funny story behind the first job i have

i had this job that i really wanted that i got invited to an online interview for, something like a customer service manager at UPS. the only times they had available was during the school day, so i had to like go to the career center our school has. 

i then proceeded to get stood up by the interviewer and had to wait an extra 40 minutes just to get a text that was like "sorry, work emergency. we'll have to reschedule" to proceed to get NO reschedule emails at all (side tangent: i hate how normalized it's become to have literally 0 respect for applicants, entry level job or not)

on the bright side, i asked the person working at the career center if there were any job postings, and she showed me this paid internship opportunity at a small business nearby where they would pay u for programming an AI assistant to help them with their stock levels. its really nice because 

currently procrastinating working on said assistant to write this lmao, its due thursday and ive barely made any progress

the second job i actually just got today, i did an interview with the tj maxx by our house and i got the job on the spot (the job isn't super picky, but still i must've done something right), so there's some more income 

im truly on that #grind

misc

i've got 2 other big things that i've been putting a lot of my time towards, namely the new deltarune chapters and a minecraft server i've been running

the new deltarune chapters are SO GOOD. i finished both of them and i'm doing a couple 100%(ish) runs right now, and i just beat chapter 3's secret boss (may or may not have used literally every single item i had, i'm not that good at the game lmao)

toby fox is actually so good at writing and music production and the art direction is so good oough its genuinely gotta be one of my favorite video games of all time

i genuinely cant wait for chapter 5 it's gonna be SO PEAK

the minecraft server i've been running has been a lot of fun, i technically have 2 going right now but it's only me playing on one of them

the one i'm running for my discord server is like a competition to complete a modpack the fastest. there are 2 teams that are competing against each other to complete the create: above and beyond modpack, and it's a lot of fun so far! i'm making a video on it and recording, so i'm not actually participating. i'll post the link when it's done probably

the other one has just been me and one of my friends playing on it for a while, it's a create mod and cobblemon modpack and i've been building this pretty big city that's supposedly swedish but is based on american industrialist architecture that's been run over by plants and stuff (will probably post pictures or a tour later, i might also turn a server tour into a video)

that's all my ranting done, there's a lot i didn't talk about but i'm getting kind of tired. thanks so much for reading!!
