hihi!! i just wanted to talk about old youtube for a minute and why i love it so much!!
back then people made videos for fun and didn’t really think that “youtube” would be a like a job and stuff like that .
i don’t know why but newer youtube feels so stale?? i don’t know if it’s just me.. but i tend not to watch any new youtubers other than people who randomly talk about a topic i like but other than that. I stick to the youtubers i’ve been watching for years! 😭 (side rant so sorry!!)
older youtube felt more real, more raw! of course some of these videos had a script but it didn’t feel over planned like how newer video feel to me.
people were more creative with their videos back then (i’m not saying that any new youtubers don’t have creativity) but for the era they are making video it was revolutionary and cool now looking back now. in my opinion there is a lot of slop now (aka. some youtube shorts videos) and they go trending it just makes no sense to me

Ever since people started learning that you could make money from YouTube the quality of videos dropped SIGNIFICANTLY. And I don’t mean production quality like yes it’s gotten better but the quality of content is all optimized and watered down and milked and it’s just… ew…..
omg so real!! literally most of it is now slop when it could’ve been something good!

RIGHT?? Especially in the post Mr beast era of content everything has to be adhd trap editing and loud screaming and sound effects it’s just too much at once it’s overstimulating

FR i feel like in my opinion that era of content was the start of the downfall of youtube because everyone was copying him and no one was doing anything creative or original

NO ABSOLUTELY the Mr Beastification of youtube has to be one of the worst things to happen to content creation since the start
