the least toxic social media platform

as someone who was born in 2001 and wasn’t allowed on social media until 2009, resulting in missing the whole MySpace era by just a hair, im really grateful for the creators of this platform. Recently I decided to take a break from other socials such as IG and FB for the sake of my mental health. everyday it’s a mindless cycle of endless hours of scrolling, a lot of this time which is spent just making myself feel bad for not looking the way these people are presenting themselves to be on these sites. My mind has been conditioned into thinking because I don’t wear big lashes with some cute fishnets every single day, im just not pretty enough or as stupid as it sounds “emo” enough. But being on this site where people just want to talk about their feelings or shit that actually matters in their lives opposed to just obsessing over what funny thing can be posted to get more shares and views is so refreshing!! Every person I’ve seen on here is so welcoming and excited to make new friends opposed to people on IG who believe they’re better than everyone and won’t even bother to follow their friend back. Idk I’m just stoned and rambling because it’s 3am and I can’t sleep but I just can’t help but realize the positive difference I’ve experienced changing from mainly using IG and FB compared to this site. once again shoutout da creators of this wonderful place!
