Has anyone ever had a true cryptid experience ?

This happened to me and my bsf while we were out for a midnight walk in a local forest preserve. Little weird things kept happening, The same car passed by us 3 times, a streetlamp that was out turned on the moment we were under it, little things. We decided after all these occurrences it would be a good idea to walk back to the car, on the unlit path. We had also been hearing a lot of rustling through the trees, but we didn't think too much of it. it was the woods at night. As I'm walking in front holding a flashlight, my bsf goes, "what the f*** is that ??" with the most genuine horror in her voice. I've never heard it before or since. I whip around, and on the grass of the path is a rotund black blob with three eyes in the shape of a triangle on its head. When the light hit its eyes, they glowed a strange shade of red. We booked it out of there, fast. This was in TN, USA if anyone has had similar experiences, or just cryptid experience in general.
