in general, there is a pretty friendly community here, you just add friends and write to someone (is the person doesn’t mind ofc!!) ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶

personally, I just kept messaging everyone I added and made a few friends by doing that
however, if a person doesn't want to talk, then don't push them to talk
