So, just yesterday, I finished watching the last half of Utopia Series II after holding back for a long while. And, like the rest of the series, it is ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Seriously, the colour scheme, cinematography, soundtrack, characters, writing, augh - amazing.
Seriously, the second series was a HUGE step-up in quality; it's a shame Utopia was left on a cliffhanger, and instead of a third series or a graphic novel to end it off perfectly, what we got was a remake that butchered the source material. Then again, series II could be seen as an open ending that leans more into a bad ending, but it would have been better for Utopia to have actually tell its whole narrative, given that Dennis Kelly (the creator) said the true ending is still not shown up.
Well, anyhow, Utopia is peak cinema. That's all from here.
