Hii I will be posting the poems i write here :)ย ย
Bedstead
The bedstead belonged to a very old house.
Now I no longer live there.
One of the remnants I have is the bedstead.ย
It is still sturdyโ
Very sturdy to have held so many over the years.
As I slept there;
for as long as I can remember,
the bedstead has watched me dream.
The dreams have vanished, along with them their luggage:
Of stars, endless horizons, skies that melted into the oceans,ย ย
But the bedstead still remains, though my memory
Now fades and tears at the edges.
Once the night falls upon us,ย
And the pillows have to be placed, the linen pulled over,
I will not forget to look over at the bedstead,
Each engraving set deep in the wood;
Like a stream over rolling hillsย
Dried up as if destined to be desolate.
I will never forget to look over,
trace my finger, up and down
knowing that years ago, a smaller one did the same.
