Adventure With Mabel.

Mabel and I went on a walk, today, didn't encounter anything quite bizarre but that doesn't mean we failed to encounter anything interesting!

A yellow swallowtail butterfly, from a side view with its wings up.

This is, as I mentioned in a recent bulletin, a yellow swallowtail butterfly! They're awfully common in all continents except for Antarctica but I was still very happy to encounter and photograph this one with modern technology on-hand. I do wish I got a good video of it flying, they are very graceful!

We also located Mallow! The leaves, petals and seeds are edible but I would not recommend eating any flowers you see in the woods. Especially the woods of Gravity Falls! You never know what will be poisonous or magical!

A patch of small purple flowers, known as Mallow.

..The second half to Mabel's bouquet, there, is Hemlock. Which is POISONOUS!! Our adventure ended around there so she could go and wash her hands. What strikes me as odd is that it is not native to Oregon.. I suppose we did find something strange after all! I'll return to that part of the woods later and remove the plant before it can reproduce. Perhaps bring it to the lab and study it.

A small bouquet of mallow and.. hemlock, being held in Mabel's hand.

Anyway, that is all I currently have to share. Will update with my findings on the Hemlock.
