Attempting to dye my hair after 10 years

When I was 14 I got my hair dyed for the first time and it turned out phenomenal. Franted. That was because I got it professionally done. Recently, I wanted to dye my hair again after so long. I wanted to during the pandemic, but didn't get to so I couldn't dye my hair the color I wanted at the time.

Yesterday, I cut my own hair again to make it shorter, and I had my mom help me dye my hair. I even went to a professional hair salon shop that specializes in cosmetics and colorful hair dye, and my goal was to have two colors. One for the top, and one for the bottom.

My mom helped me with the dying process. The dye we got was a special brand that works with dark hair like mine and apparently had to be mixed in with bleach(?) idk I zoned out when I was given the explanation bc I was overwhelmed with work, exhausted, and hungry. Either way, my mom helped me dye it. However, I was in charge of the time for the bleaching process.

I won't lie to you. I have bad anxiety. I've seen those hair fail clips of people who dyed their hair for TOO long and their hair began falling out. So, by the time my mom finished dying my hair. I assumed it had been sitting there for a good 10 minutes. So, I set the timer for 20. Once that was done, I rushed to the bathroom and removed all the bleach and dye.

I think I hopped in too aoon, because I didn't see much of a change in my hair. Maybe my roots. But that was mostly because they dye was on my skin. Kind of bumbed, but I learned my lesson. Next week we're gonna try again to dye my hair and this time wait the proper 30 minutes. I'm not giving up and I know this has potential
