I think as a whole, the world is slowly forgetting the art of living and letting yourself just exist in a moment without a need to immortalize it through technology. Yesterday, I saw one of my favorite bands live, and it was by far the biggest concert I've ever attended. Literal chills.
But, it did bum me out deep down how some people recored the whole thing and focused more on getting good angles rather than enjoying the performance and the ambiance throughout the night. I don't condemn anyone who chooses to record; I believe recording certain things is nice and has a cozy feeling further down the road. I don't believe that blocking someone's view with your phone just for the sake of recording to be fair or considerate.
There were a few moments when almost everyone put their phones down to live and experience the performance, but there was always at least one phone out. As technology advances, it feels like we're almost willingly trading in our humanity as a society to prove we experienced things rather than just letting the experience live through us and through the stories we tell; not the ones we post for the world to look at.
I didn't record a single thing yesterday, and I had my friend ask me how I would remember it. How I would show people I was there. It made me realize how brainwashed we are to prove we live and actually do things now compared to other generations who didn't have such a embedded connection to one another. Overall, not recording felt odd at first, but it turned into such a raw euphoria that I will never go back. Highly recommend to try at least one time <3
PSA: I don't judge anyone who proceeds to record @ concerts, this is just my opinion ^-^

No bc it’s like FOMO on steroids. The need for validation to prove you were actually somewhere and actually did something is so strong that it’s like forcing us to record stuff “just in case” it ever was needed as “proof” we attended something or was part of something. There is nothing wrong with living in the moment and just enjoying what you experience and stop worrying so much about future validation so much
Exactly!!!! I def don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to record; but the NEED for validation and proof is overwhelming and that sometimes gets in the way of enjoying things! And not just concerts, but movies and other events I think

Right like it’s EVERYTHING. Even when you’re literally out to eat food (I fall for this all the time) ppl feel the need to take pictures of the food and like… I mean it’s just food
you don’t have to take pictures of EVERY MEAL you eat yk-
